The /ʃ/ sound in English

How to make the /ʃ/ sound
Pull the tongue slightly back from the /s/ position, spread the blade wide behind the ridge, round the lips a little, and push air through with no voice.

The mistake learners make with /ʃ/
Producing a plain /s/, or over-palatalising it into a Slavic-style soft "sh"; the lips should be slightly rounded.
